China Telecom Corporation Limited (China Telecom) is a provider of wireline telecommunications services in Shanghai municipality, Guangdong province, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province, Anhui province, Fujian province, Jiangxi province, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Chongqing municipality, Sichuan province, Hubei province, Hunan province, Hainan province, Guizhou province, Yunnan province, Shaanxi province, Gansu province, Qinghai province, Ningxia Hui autonomous region and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in China. On March 31, 2008, the Company entered into an Acquisition Agreement with China Telecom Group to acquire the entire equity interest in its wholly owned subsidiary, Beijing Telecom. In September 2008, the Company announced the completion of the acquisition of the CDMA business.
