Tokyu Corporation was established through a merger in 1942 and is now one of the leading railway companies in Japan. The principal activities of the Group are: TRANSPORTATION, railway and bus and trucking operations; REAL ESTATE, sale, rental/leasing and management of land and buildings; DISTRIBUTION, including department stores, trading, retailing and sale of petroleum products; LEISURE AND SERVICES, operates hotels, golf courses, sports facilities and restaurants; CONSTRUCTION, civil engineering, archtectural construction and related works; OTHER OPERATIONS, rolling stock services and sale of telecommunications facilities. Construction business accounted for 35% of fiscal 2001 revenues; transportation, 25%; leisure and services, 15%; real estate business, 14%; distribution, 10% and other, 1%.
