BT Group PLC Formerly known as British Telecommunications plc. Provider of communications services through: BT Wireless, an international mobile business which offers mobile voice, data and next generation services; BT Ignite, an international data-centric solutions and broadband network business that focuses on European corporate & wholesale markets; BT openworld, a mass-market internet business that focuses increasingly on broadband services; BT Retail, serves end-business and residential customers; and BT wholesale, provides network services and solutions to communications companies, network operators and service providers including BT Retail, BT Wireless and BT Ignite. During 2001, the Group acquired Telfort and Viag Interkom GmbH & Co. BT Retail accounted for 52% of fiscal 2001 revenues; BT Wholesale, 15%; BT Ignite, 14%; BT Wireless, 14%; Yell, 4%; and Other, 1%.In June 2001, the Company sold Yell Group.On 19-Nov-2001, demerger of BT Cellnet.
