Following the change in its corporate form, Q-Cells will operate as an SE

Bitterfeld-Wolfen, 29 October 2008 - Q-Cells (QCE; ISIN DE0005558662) completed the change to the new corporate form of Societas Europea with its registration in the Commercial Register on 23 October 2008 and has been operating since then as Q-Cells SE. The conversion of its shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and at Clearstream Banking AG will take place in mid November.

Representatives of the employees and the Board of Directors signed an agreement to this effect in spring. The Annual Shareholders' Meeting on 26 June 2008 subsequently approved the merger with Q-Cells Österreich AG and consequently the change of form to a European company (Societas Europea or SE).

"By changing to an SE, we can operate as a legal unit throughout the EU and combine all our European activities in a holding company structure", says Anton Milner, CEO of Q-Cells. "It also makes transactions within Europe far simpler. This will allow us to expand our presence, as an internationally operating company, on the European market still further."
