Adelaide, Mar 21, 2007 (ABN Newswire) - WCP Resources Ltd (ASX: WCP) today announced plans for a June quarter drilling start-up on its Mombo Bore copper-uranium prospect in Western Australia.
The proposed Mombo Bore drilling program, involving some 20 high priority drill holes, means WCP Resources will in coming months have expanded exploration programs under way across three Australian states.
As well as Mombo Bore, the Company said today it was also ready to start drilling programs on its Lake Torrens IOCGU project in SA, its Lilleyvale IOCG project in Queensland and a follow up discovery and resource extension drilling program at the Airport Project in WA.
And, in another WCP Resources project, an exploration program is already in progress on its Coulta Project in SA designed to delineate areas for drill testing within the combined 70 kilometres of uranium prospective palaeochannels.
Announcing latest Mombo Bore exploration results today, WCP Resources said a highly sophisticated geophysical survey had just been completed over the prospect, following up on recent high grade copper and uranium samples of up to 15.35% copper and 0.11% U3O8.
"The detailed ground-based surveys completed over our Kingfisher and Mickey's Well prospects detected numerous significant zones having anomalous chargeability associated with outcropping copper mineralisation," the Company said
"Over 20 high priority drill holes for a total of over 6,000 metres have consequently been designed to commence in the June quarter to test these anomalous features."
