Sydney, July 3, 2007 (ABN Newswire) - The Australian Share Market rallied today. Investors hit the ground running following a positive lead from Wall Street overnight and firmer oil and base metal prices sent resource stocks higher.
Coles Group and Wesfarmers both slumped in the aftermath of yesterday's historic deal... investors unconvinced of Wesfarmers' ability to turn Coles around.
The ASX 200 Index closed up 36 points to 6299, and on the futures market the SPI 200 lifted 27 points
