Sydney, July 6, 2007 (ABN Newswire) - The share market retreated today. Investors were uninspired by a lackluster session on Wall Street overnight, and a rise in U.S. bond yields put pressure on rate-sensitive stocks.
The ASX 200 Index closed down 11 points to 6351, but is up 76 points on the week. On the futures market the SPI 200 lost 28 points.
Looking to US indices now, the Dow Jones industrial Index was gained 157 points over the three day trading week. The S&P 500 moved 22 points higher, the NASDAQ lifted 53, and the 100 index rose 47 points
