Sydney, July 23, 2007 (ABN Newswire) - After surpassing the 14,000 mark for the first time on Thursday, the markets took a dip on Friday after some disappointing earnings results, and continued fears that problems in the housing market and subprime mortgage sector could hurt the broader market.

Taking a look at Friday's numbers, the Dow Jones Industrials lost 149 points closing at 13,851; the S&P500 was down 19 ending at 1,534, and the Nasdaq dropped 32 points to finish at 2,688
