Sydney, Aug 3, 2007 (ABN Newswire) - While share market reversed early gains in the afternoon, it managed to claw its way back by the close of trade.
Investors remain cautious about the issues arising from the U.S. sub prime mortgage market, and are also subdued by the possibility of a tightening of interest rate policy by the Reserve Bank next week.
According to Reuters, dealers say equity markets are likely to stay volatile in the near term.
The ASX 200 Index closed up 9 points to 6021, and is down 62 points on the week. On the futures market the SPI 200 gained 4 points
