The Australian market could post gains once again today. Wall Street finished up, base metal prices are up, and later in the report we'll detail upbeat results from BHP Billiton which could also influence the market. There's another busy day for corporate results already in the works with Babcock & Brown, Santos and Fairfax Media among those reporting.
On Wednesday the S&P/ASX200 posted its third straight session of gains, adding 16 points and finishing at 6,005. On the futures market the SPI200 is up 65.
Turning to currencies, the Australian dollar firmed towards 81 US cents this morning
