The share market started the week?s trading on a strong note. Oil firms led the market higher after oil futures jumped more than US$1 to a new record.
The market was also buoyed by plenty of corporate action including Jubilee Mines which surged after Xstrata announced a takeover bid and Geodynamics which jumped on a joint venture deal with Origin Energy.
And the S&P/ASX 200 Index closed 92 points higher to 6792, and on the futures market the SPI 200 rose 95 points.
