Sydney, Jan 17, 2008 (ABN Newswire) - Wotif.com (ASX:WTF) today announced that it had signed an agreement with Tourico Holidays Inc. for access to accommodation product in the United States of America and Canada. Under this agreement Wotif.com has the right to distribute Tourico's full USA and Canadian product offering upon the Wotif.com accommodation website.
Tourico is a worldwide online wholesaler of travel product, with one of the most comprehensive hotel selections in North America. Tourico has established preferred supplier relationships with many leading hotel suppliers in the USA.
Wotif.com's CEO, Robbie Cooke, said "the arrangements with Tourico will provide Wotif.com with a compelling product offering in the USA and Canada and will lift our product range in those markets to a level comparable with our Australian, Asian and European markets. With system development undertaken over recent months we are in a position to progressively release Tourico's offering over the next month."
The strong Australian dollar has meant that the USA is an attractive destination for Wotif.com's leisure customers. We also know that many of our business users will be keen to access our expanded US offering," he said.
Amir Kalmar, Tourico's Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Chief Marketing Officer, said "We are delighted to be entering into this supply arrangement with Wotif.com, Australasia's leading online accommodation booking service. Tourico, as a leading online wholesaler of accommodation and other travel services, is excited about providing its inventory into the Australian market via our partnership with Wotif.com."
