Tokyo, Feb 5, 2008 (ABN Newswire) - Taking the opportunity of a visit to Tokyo by Mr. Haruhiko Kuroda, ADB President, ADB and ADBI are organizing a symposium titled "Challenges for the Asian Economy in 2008 and Beyond".
Mr. Kuroda will deliver a speech on his latest perspectives of the Asian economy, including emerging opportunities and challenges, sources of new growth, the engine of growth in Asia and the effect of Asia's emerging powerhouses-the People's Republic of China and India. In particular, he will focus on climate change and environmental issues. He will also speak about the future of intra-regional relations, the impact on the regional and world economy of a more integrated Asian community, and the role of multilateral institutions.
