Perth, Mar 18, 2008 (ABN Newswire) - Stirling Products (ASX: STI) advises that its North American wholly-owned subsidiary, Stirling Products North America Inc. (SPNA), has offered terms and conditions to Distribution Claude Levesque Inc. (DCL) to sell and distribute Stirling's beta glucan product ProVale. Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties will have three months to finalize a formal agreement.
"SPNA (trading as Progressive BioActives, Inc) is delighted to have formalised an agreement with this distributor," said Mr Shane Patelakis, President of SPNA. "DCL has a very good understanding of the Canadian swine and poultry markets and we believe that they will be able to accelerate the sales of ProVale nationally via their distribution networks and our partners in Canada."
Under the terms of the agreement, DCL will be the exclusive sales and distribution agent for ProVale and ProVale 400 (the 10% pre-diluted product) in Canada for the swine and poultry markets.
This agreement complements an existing agreement in the United States that was announced on 12 November 2007. "We have set an aggressive sales target for ProVale. DCL, together with the distribution agent in the United States, will be of great assistance to us in attaining the target set," indicated Mr. Patelakis.
DCL is rapidly becoming recognised as a distributor for international suppliers specializing in the distribution of nutritional and health products for various animal health companies such as Chr. Hansen and Syngenta Animal Nutrition. Their products are directed at feed integrators, veterinary drugstores, feed mills and pre-mixers.
ProVale has been shown to be an effective alternative to growth promotion antibiotics in broilers for disease management to maintain performance. In swine ProVale has been shown to significantly enhance vaccine performance, antibody titres, number of piglets weaned and prevent performance lags normally associated with vaccination.
