Perth, July 29, 2008 (ABN Newswire) - The Board of Northern Mining Limited (ASX:NMI) is pleased to report that an initial Mineral Resource to JORC reporting standards has been completed for the Szklary nickel deposit located in south west Poland. Over the past several months a substantial programme of data validation and geological interpretation has been undertaken by CSA Global Pty Ltd (CSA) as previous historic estimates for the project were not JORC Code compliant.

The Mineral Resource estimate was undertaken by CSA and is classified as Inferred.
Results are presented in Table 1 and the parameters used in determining the resource are described in the Notation at the end of this document.

Managing Director Craig Dawson commented that "this is an important milestone for the Szklary Nickel Project.
This first JORC compliant mineral resource estimate of 94,000 tonnes of contained nickel was within our expectations of circa 100,000 tonnes of contained nickel, as a significant portion of the southern concession area has been excised from the resource estimate due to uncertainty regarding historical workings (Figure 1). We are confident that once this uncertainty has been resolved we will achieve our initial target of 100,000 tonnes of contained nickel. Of the six kilometres of strike length of the Szklary deposit this resource estimate is for only 3.7 kilometres of strike. We will be looking to commence preliminary metallurgical test work in the near future".
Northern Mining has previously announced the signing of a Heads of Agreement with Polish copper giant, KGHM over NMI's two concession areas together with KGHM's 1 concession for the undertaking of a Feasibility Study into the joint development of the Szklary deposit. The Feasibility Study is expected to commence in early 2009.
