Hong Kong, Aug 6, 2009 (ABN Newswire) - Kingsoft Corporation Limited ("Kingsoft" or the "Company"; HKG:3888), China's leading entertainment and applications software developer, distributor and service provider, based on market share, announced today that its first 3D online game, JX3, was well-received by market during close alpha testing. The game even marked a record in June with 1.5 million registered players. Kingsoft expects JX3 will start open beta testing in the third quarter of 2009.
JX3 has received positive market response since its close alpha testing on November 18, 2008. As of today, JX3 has taken four rounds of close alpha testing in total with steady increase in number of registered players. Mr. Zou Tao, Senior Vice President of Kingsoft, said, "The Company activated new servers in face of the increasing players. As of the end of July 2009, the number of operating serves was 17 groups (for 1.5 million players), increased from one group (for 2,000 players) on the first day of close alpha testing. During the latest round of close alpha testing in June 2009, the game recorded 1.5 million registered players. 800,000 of which entered the game after registration to have more in-depth exposure. This close alpha testing can be concluded as the largest of its kind in China online game industry. In the third quarter of 2009, JX3 will start open beta testing and open to all players."
JX3 is developed by Kingsoft Xishanju Workshop for 6 years and with over 100 millions RMB of investment. As the latest installment of JX series, JX3 has succeeded the famous brand name of JX series becoming one of the highly anticipated online games in China.
