Republic Gold Limited (ASX:RAU) Metallurgy Drilling Results At The Tregoora Project In FNQ Significantly Exceed Resource Estimated Grades

Brisbane, Sep 10, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The Directors of Republic Gold Limited (ASX:RAU) today announced that the Company has received analysis results for the final eight diamond drillholes for the 2009 field season drilling at its Sleeping Giant Prospect within its 100%-owned Tregoora Gold Project in Far North Queensland ("FNQ").

These drillholes provide in excess of 2,000 kilograms of samples for ongoing metallurgical testwork at Tregoora.

A total of 298 metres of diamond drilling was drilling in this phase.

In the initial four diamond drillholes (reported to ASX on 13 August 2009), TGA089 returned 20 metres @ 5.80 g/t Au. Five of these final drillholes returned grades of a similar tenor. The combination of these high grade results means that the Company must now investigate drill spacing and orientation at all of the deposits at Tregoora to examine the potential of numerous small, but high grade shoots similar to that at Terrace Creek. The Company will now interrogate its current database to identify potential locations of very high grade shoots, to determine if increasing the drilling density in these areas will adequately capture the grade profile in the block model estimates.
