Adelaide, Oct 1, 2009 (ABN Newswire) - Beach Petroleum Limited (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) drilling report for the week ending 30 September. Highlights of the week's activities include:

Egypt - North Shadwan Concession - Gulf of Suez

The NS 394-3 [Burtocal North] oil exploration well (Beach 20%) is drilling ahead at a depth of 2117 metres in the South Gharib Formation. The primary reservoir target is the Nubia Formation.

The NS 377-3 oil field production well (Beach 20%) is in the final stages of a pre-operational rig audit. The rig is on location and the conductor pipe has been installed. The well is to be an extended reach well drilled from an onshore location to intersect the offshore Kareem Formation oil pool 150 metres north of the discovery well.

Beach Petroleum Operated Cooper / Eromanga Exploration (PEL 218)

Wakefield-1 (Beach 23.33% in Post Permian JV), has been cased and suspended pending further evaluation to establish whether commercial hydrocarbons have been intersected by the well. The Ensign 30 rig was released on 26 September, marking the end of a successful, nine well exploration campaign in the Eromanga Basin, operated by Beach Petroleum.
