After observing a minutes' silence for the tragic loss of the Sundance board in an aircraft incident recently, Mr Malnic pointed out the common struggles that many miners experience including working in remote areas and the sacrifice of the comforts of normal life to explore and unearth resources for Austalia, it's people and the resource driven Australian economy.

Senior executives from the mining industry packed the room to hear the presentation, as well as other mining industry executives presenting the value of their respective mining organisations to the capacity crowd.

About the Sydney Mining Club

The first Sydney Mining Club forum was held in March 1997. The initial impetus for the formation of the Sydney club was discontent in the mining community with many aspects of the professional institutes and most of all with their ability to bring people together. Our activism led to the first changes to the constitution of the largest Institute in more than a century.
