Sydney, Aug 26, 2010 (ABN Newswire) - iSOFT Group Limited (ASX:ISF) today announced a contract with Damai Service Hospital for a hospital information system (HIS) to enhance the quality of patient care and cut costs at the 80-bed private hospital at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The hospital is replacing an existing HIS to improve reliability and to integrate back-office and frontline patient and hospital services. iSOFT's solution provides seamless integration of patient management, billing, accounting and purchasing. Other features include ward management, medical records tracking, ordering and reporting of pathology and radiology tests, and pharmacy management.
The benefits expected are far reaching. Improving efficiency and productivity will give clinical staff more time for patient care and so improve patient satisfaction. Access to accurate information in real-time is vital for patient care but also for hospital billing and finances. The improvements will lead to superior care and better outcomes and shorter hospital stays, resulting in higher productivity, more income and less costs.
With 26 other customers in Malaysia, iSOFT is now a very established brand in the market, which was a key factor in the decision.
iSOFT's HIS is due to be installed this year. The contract includes support and maintenance for two years.
Established in 1981, the Damai Service Hospital is a premier Malaysian hospital group offering secondary care services. It has a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic facilities covering 20 different specialties. The hospital has 60 inpatient beds and 20 daycare beds.
