Sydney, Sep 23, 2010 (ABN Newswire) - Deep Yellow Limited (ASX:DYL) (PINK:DYLLF) MD Patrick Mutz has more than 30 years of experience within the international uranium mining industry across executive, managerial and technical roles in the United States, Germany and Australia.

Prior to joining Deep Yellow, he was Managing Director for Alliance Resources Limited, 25% owner of the world-class Four Mile Uranium project in South Australia. Four Mile is currently being developed by Alliance and its joint venture partner Quasar Resources Pty Ltd. Four Mile is considered the largest uranium discovery in Australia in the past 25 years.

In previous roles in Australia, Patrick was Managing Director of Uranium Exploration Australia Limited and prior to that, Managing Director of Operations for Heathgate Resources Pty Ltd. Heathgate is an affiliate of General Atomics (USA) and is the owner and operator of the Beverley Uranium Mine in South Australia.

Beverley is Australia's only, and one of the world's largest and most advanced, in-situ uranium mining operations. Patrick was responsible for all aspects of Heathgate's operations in Australia including affiliate Quasar Resources' exploration activities. Quasar discovered the Four Mile uranium deposit in 2005. He was also intimately involved with the introduction and demonstration of in-situ (ISL) mining technology in Australia in the late 1990's at Beverley as part of the development of the project. ISL mining started at Beverley in 2000 and continues today.

Mr Mutz is a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) through the National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP) in the USA and holds a Masters of Business Administration in Global Business Management (MBA/GM) from the University of Phoenix, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BS/BM) with honours. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), a 25+ year member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
