Sydney, Oct 8, 2010 (ABN Newswire) - FINANCE VIDEO: Drillsearch Energy Limited (
ASX:DLS) Managing Director Brad Lingo Speaks with Brian Carlton at Symposium Resources Roadshow.
Brad Lingo has more than 25 years of oil & gas experience ranging from frontier deepwater exploration offshore West Africa to commercialisation of major gas projects in Australia. He has been involved in all phases of the oil & gas business and project development, mergers & acquisitions, financing and equity capital raising for both listed and private companies both in Australia and internationally. Mr. Lingo was appointed to the Drillsearch Board in May 2009 and became Managing Director on 15 June 2009.
Cooper Eromanga Basin
The Cooper/Eromanga Basin is located in Central Australia and divided over two states which are the north-eastern region of South Australia and the south-western region of Queensland.
The Eromanga Basin sedimentary rocks that were developed during the Early Jurassic to Late Cretaceous unconformably overlie the older Cooper Basin sedimentary rocks that were developed during the Palaeozoic stage. The unconformable relationship between the basins provides a migration pathway at the Permian sub-crop edge for the Permian sourced oils to reach these overlying reservoir rocks. The oil and gas that are derived from the Cooper Basin source rocks to the Eromanga Basin reservoirs contribute to most of Drillsearch's production. The first oil discoveries were made in 1978 at Strzelecki in South Australia and Jackson in Queensland. Since then, exploration has encountered oil and gas accumulations from the Permian through to the Cretaceous aged sedimentary rocks.
Cumulative production from the Cooper/Eromanga Basins since the year 1977 holds the total of 270 million barrels of oil, 82 million barrels of condensate, and 123 million barrels of LPG and 5.5 trillion cubic feet of sales gas. These basins are Australia's premier onshore producing province.
Drillsearch is one of the largest permit holder in the Cooper/Eromanga Basin. The total area of all current permits and the application areas is approximately 27,000 sq km, which gives Drillsearch an exceptional opportunity for exploration and development.
