Brisbane, Nov 1, 2010 (ABN Newswire) - Global coal bed methane (CBM) company Dart Energy Limited (
ASX:DTE) today announced the appointment of Robbert de Weijer to the role of Country Manager, Australia commencing in January 2011.
Robbert joins Dart from Arrow Energy Limited where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, on secondment from Shell, since January 2009. During his tenure at Arrow Energy, Robbert was instrumental in the company achieving a number of major project milestones during a period of rapid organisational expansion, including substantial reserves upgrades, increasing gas production and sales and improving safety performance across the company.
Robbert was previously with Shell managing operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Immediately prior to Arrow Energy, he was manager responsible for Shell (
NYSE:RDS.A) Europe's gas assets in the Southern North Sea, managing over 50 offshore platforms and 2 major gas terminals in The Netherlands and England.
Dart Energy CEO Simon Potter said: "We are fortunate that one of the most experienced professionals in the domestic Australian CBM industry has chosen to join Dart as our Australian Country Manager. Robbert has a proven track record for creating capable, motivated and delivery-focused teams which will be essential in driving forward our aggressive Australian agenda, as well as contributing his considerable experience across the remainder of the International portfolio. Given the pending acquisition of Apollo Gas, Robbert will play an important role in realising our growth ambitions in New South Wales, and in bringing gas to market in the shortest possible timeframe".
