PINK:KMTUY), world's second largest manufacturer of construction equipment and mining equipment signed an academic-industry collaboration agreement with Tongji University on April 7 2011 in Shanghai, whereby two parties will conduct joint research programs in mechanical engineering and information communication technology in relation to construction equipment.
Under the collaboration agreement, Komatsu (China) will offer an internship program for Tongji and Tongji will provide technological consulting services to Komatsu for its future business development in China. The joint research programs are designed to develop practical applications based on academic research results and foster promising engineers.
Tongji University, a national key university in China with 103 years of history, boasts one of the best engineering programs in China. It is the sixth university that has established academic-industry collaboration with Komatsu, following Shandong University, Yokohama National University, Osaka University, Kanazawa University and the University of Tokyo.
