Sydney, July 28, 2011 (ABN Newswire) - Australian Power And Gas Company Limited (
ASX:APK), an independent energy retailer, today tied first place for customer satisfaction and billing, and won for service in Victoria in an independent survey of gas customers by ratings agency Canstar Blue.
Canstar Blue, an initiative of Canstar Cannex, commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure customer satisfaction. The outcomes of this survey of consumers who have an active gas account and pay the bills, demonstrated Victorians' high levels of satisfaction with Australian Power & Gas, which tied in first place for overall satisfaction and billing. Australian Power & Gas was also first for service.
"We are thrilled with the Canstar Blue award, which is a testament to our ongoing achievements in customer satisfaction, service and billing," said James Myatt, CEO of Australian Power & Gas.
"I'd particularly like to thank our employees and service partner providers, whose commitment to delighting customers with a superior overall offering lies at the heart of our successful business model.
"In an environment of rising energy prices, customers are looking for that little bit extra; not only in price but also in service," Mr Myatt said. "We're about offering customers something special; hence our commitment to providing them with a more personal service than they're used to with the major franchise players."
In April, Australian Power & Gas placed first in the prestigious BRW Fast Starters list for a second year in a row. The list is seen as a key indicator of successful strategy, entrepreneurial skill, leadership and innovation. The company also scooped first place in the separate BRW Fast100 list in 2010.
Australian Power & Gas is one of Australia's fastest growing companies, with revenue growth of some 1,300% over the past three years. Focused on residential gas and electricity retail markets, the company has a strategy of growing its footprint through proven sales channels across all three eastern seaboard states. Australian Power & Gas is winning new customers at a record rate of more than 10,000 net accounts a month as it implements its successful Victorian business model in new markets in New South Wales and Queensland.
