Sydney, Sep 1, 2011 (ABN Newswire) - CBD Energy (ASX:CBD) has signed an agreement to participate in the management of the AusChina Energy Joint Venture. AusChina is the culmination of several years of discussions and relationship building by each shareholder - CBD Energy, China Datang Corp Renewable Power Co Ltd (HKG:1798) and Tianwei Baobian Electric Co (SHA:600550). AusChina intends to acquire or develop A$6 billion projects over the next eight years, with an objective of owning one third of Australia's renewable energy base by 2020.

TVN Corporation Pty Ltd (ASX:TVN) announced the results from its latest drilling on the Nuurst Project in Mongolia. Hole NDH 06 has intersected a 177.9 m thick down hole coal sequence and extends the known coal seam development south and west of previously identified coal seam development.

Uran Limited (ASX:URA) has commenced commercial open pit mining activities at the Emmanuel Project in Zambia following the first mine production blast of about 2,000 tonnes of high grade and high quality manganese ore from the Chowa Open Pit Mine. Mining activities are continuing with the ore currently being bagged in preparation for direct sale.

Aviva Corporation Limited (ASX:AVA) has recently completed a maiden resource estimate on the Bumbo Base Metal Deposit in West Kenya. A better-than-expected inferred mineral resource of 1.68Mt grading 4% Cu Equivalent has been calculated. Aviva plans to commence drilling and other activities to expand the base metals inventory.

Manas Resources Limited (ASX:MSR) has completed a 12,500 metre drilling program at Shambesai Gold Project in the Kyrgyz Republic. 33.7m at 10.74% gold was returned and final results for the drilling are expected by September 2011. The Company plans to provide a resource update for the project in the September quarter.

Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (TYO:4568) and Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited (BOM:500359) today announced a joint initiative to sponsor mobile healthcare clinics in India, Cameroon and Tanzania. The initiative will be implemented through a non-profit organisation and a non-government organisation, utilizing Ranbaxy's experience and expertise in providing mobile healthcare services.
