ASX:BPT) (PINK:BEPTF) has been informed by Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) that the pipeline between the Tantanna facility and the Gidgealpa facility is now back online and is flowing at approximately 5,500 barrels of oil per day ("bopd"). The re-commissioning of the Tantanna pipeline is over two months ahead of Beach's initial expectations.
The PEL 92 (Beach 75% and operator, Cooper Energy Ltd (ASX:COE) 25%) pipeline that feeds the Tantanna facility has remained fully operational during the Tantanna pipeline interruption. The current capacity of this pipeline is approximately 6,000 bopd (4,500 bopd net to Beach).
In addition to the Tantanna pipeline, Beach is considering trucking of oil early in 2012 to maximise oil production from its Western Flank operations. This will be underpinned by the completion of the Parsons -3, -4, -5, Butlers -2, -3, -4, Germein-1 and Elliston-1 wells over the coming months, as well as the new Butlers facility, which is expected to come online in December 2011.
The growth of oil production from the Western Flank of the Cooper Basin is a key focus for Beach. To this end, Beach is in the process of planning the construction of a new oil pipeline from the Growler Field (Beach 40%, Senex Energy Ltd (ASX:SXY) 60% and operator) to Lycium (approx. 8,000 bopd), which will tie into a new trunkline from Lycium to Moomba (approx. 15,000 bopd).
