The center will take over the activities of the former 'Kontron Asia Inc.' which became part of the joint venture between Quanta and Kontron AG and was subsequently renamed Quanmax. As of January 1st, 2009, Quanmax will no longer serve the market with Kontron products and thus Quanmax and Kontron will work together over the next months to ensure a smooth transfer of Kontron's customers to the new 'Kontron Technology Taiwan'.

The new sales and support center will be managed by Mrs. Christine Huang (Huang Shu-Mei), a long time employee of Kontron Asia Inc. Christine has a wealth of experience with Kontron products as well as with the South East Asia market.

"We are very happy that we have been able to win Christine for this important role", says Tom Meyer, Kontron's Vice President 'APAC'. "As she is very well respected by our customers and sales partners in the territory, Christine will be able to ensure seamless and continuous support for our valued customers.'

"The market in South East Asia is an excellent fit for Kontron in terms of technology and mentality," continues Tom Meyer. "Kontron offers the widest range of leading edge, world class and high quality embedded computer products which match the expectations of our Asian customers and, as a company headquartered in Germany, we share many values such as stability, dependability and last, but not least, mutual trust. We are once again following our motto 'Think Global, act Local' in order to support our customers even better. Our products are not easily sold 'over the counter'. They require significant support during the design-in phase, but also afterwards during the production phase in terms of flexible logistics, quality assurance and longevity support. 'Kontron Technology Taiwan' joins Kontron's comprehensive network of sales and support offices all over APAC, including China, Japan, Korea and Australia."

As a next step Kontron will integrate a strong network of sales partners into the new sales network in South East Asia. Together with these experienced companies Kontron will be able to support customers with comprehensive value-adding know-how at the dedicated application level.

Over the next few weeks, Kontron Technology Taiwan will move its offices into new premises at:

<![CDATA[ Revolutionary ASX And NZX Market Information Platform Launched ]]> en58519 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/58519/ Mon, 27 Oct 2008 14:00:28 GMT
Spark is a desktop application that provides users with a comprehensive suite of ASX and NZX market information tools, including real-time depth, data visualisations, market playback, tick charting, market scanning, company news and data exporting functions.

"Spark has been developed by Iguana2 over the last four years and we are certain that it's the most sophisticated market information platform available today," Adam Rands, Chief Operating Officer Iguana2, said.

"Spark offers broking houses and wealth managers in Australia and New Zealand a viable alternative platform for the region," Rands said.

According to Rands, Spark is simple to use, yet advanced in its functionality.
"The recurrent theme with all of Spark's tools is a focus on usability and the clear communication of market activity," Rands said.

"Trading movements and changes are presented with the intelligent use of animation, colour, transitions, shading and scroll speeds. The use of these elements conveys subtle, yet highly valuable information and enables users to actively monitor more stocks."

Through its innovative market depth visualisation tools, Spark users can quickly analyse a stock's current trading position and subsequent movements in the open order book. A unique playback function allows users to rewind the current or previous days and have the historical trading activity replayed at various speeds. This powerful feature allows users to test their theories on trading behavior and can help users to identify momentum shifts, support and resistance levels, dummy orders and the presence of algorithmic trading.

Spark is unashamedly different, says Rands.

"Spark's development has been unencumbered by legacy software and systems. It is the next generation market information platform for the professional market and is fast, flexible and highly functional."

"A key area where Iguana2 has focused heavily is the user interface for Spark," Rands said.

"The typical approach of using a windows style MDI interface is not suited to streaming market data. Annoying pop-ups, drop-downs, menu/scroll bars and overlapping windows all take up valuable screen real-estate, and often get in the way of what's actually important - the data. By developing our own purpose built user interface, market data takes centre stage and becomes accessible with unprecedented speed."

And with the broking industry facing increased costs and declining revenue due to the ongoing financial crisis, Spark will offer the industry some relief with a competitive pricing model.

"Spark is a robust platform whose unique features will make it an indispensable application for equity market professionals," said Rands.

"We've got a bold development roadmap for the inclusion of extra features and functionality over the coming quarters and we expect Spark to gain quick acceptance with domestic brokers, hedge funds and wealth managers."

<![CDATA[ OMRON Introduces New EPC UHF Global Reader Platform; Enables High Performance Reading/Writing Under a Wide Range of Conditions and RFID Applications in Three Major Regions of the Globe ]]> en32723 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/32723/ Wed, 2 Aug 2006 14:41:18 GMT OMRON Corporation (TSE: 6645; US: OMRNY) today announced its new V750 reader platform, which will support global frequency bands for the United States (915MHz), Europe (867MHz) and Japan (953MHz). The V750 series, designed and manufactured by OMRON, will be newly introduced to the European and Japanese markets, while in the U.S. it represents an expansion to OMRON's current V740 EPC UHF reader product range.

The V750 reader platform enables high performance EPC Gen2 reading/writing and features easy set up, advanced diagnostics, self execution and RF environmental monitoring functions.

Drawing on decades of experience in the design and manufacturing of RFID systems, OMRON has introduced the V750 in response to many global customer and system integrator requests for an interrogator that can lower total installation costs, expand RFID applications and provide site analysis assistance.

The V750 runs on a light real-time operating system (RTOS) that delivers consistent, repeatable performance to meet high-line speed and I/O requirements for supply chain as well as packaging and manufacturing operations. For example, the V750 has an "optimized" implementation for tag density self adjustment which improves actual read times required for applications that have frequent changes to the number of tags being read.

The new platform supports OMRON's recently announced scanning antenna technology that provides direction of tag travel and eliminates "null points" in the read zone to achieve significant improvement for RFID tag read reliability.

The combination of OMRON's global frequency Gen2 inlays and the new V750 reader platform continues to underscore and expand the company's commitment to support today's worldwide business activities.

<![CDATA[ DataDot Technology Ltd Announce Chinese Distributor for DataTraceDNA Product ]]> en30885 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/30885/ Wed, 23 Nov 2005 09:50:32 GMT
The distributor is DataDot Technology (Hong Kong and China) Limited, a company incorporated in China that is not a related company to DDT. Under the distribution agreement, DTDNA will receive a license fee of AUD$10 million ($500,000 of which has already been paid with the balance payable in September 2006 and September 2007). The distributor has an exclusive distribution licence to market DataTraceDNA in certain designated applications in China for a period of 10 years, with the right of renewal for a further 10 years.

All rights to intellectual property will remain with the JV company and continuation of the contract over the term is subject to appropriate performance hurdles by the distributor.

Mr Ian Allen, CEO of DDT which operates as manager for DTDNA, said: "The Chinese market represents a very attractive opportunity for DataTraceDNA . Our technology is the ideal solution for the authentication of consumer goods on a mass scale. The DataTraceDNA barcode is inexpensive, robust and easily applied in the manufacturing process. It allows manufacturers of branded products to more easily enforce trademarks and capture sales revenue lost to counterfeiters."
