ABN Newswire http://www.abnnewswire.net Wed, 30 May 2012 01:21:28 newsroom@abnnewswire.net newsroom@abnnewswire.net 60 <![CDATA[ Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) Opcon Powerbox Installation Update ]]> en72634 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/72634/ Wed, 16 May 2012 11:00:00 GMT Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has progressed with installation of the Opcon Powerbox at the Carnarvon Power Station with testing of the earth grid now successfully completed.

Construction is continuing as planned this week after a hiatus to allow the earth grid time to settle.

Upon testing, the earth grid easily exceeded specifications allowing construction to continue. The earth grid was not originally required in construction but became necessary when it could not be determined that the existing grid would adequately protect the section of the power station accommodating Enerji's waste heat to power system.

The earth grid is critical in providing a safe working environment in an operating power station.

Enerji and its customer have an uncompromising approach to safety on site.

The resultant short delay is due purely to construction and procedural matters, predominantly the earth grid installation and settling period. The technical aspects of the Opcon Powerbox and its heat recovery system are unchanged. The exact revised target date for completion at Carnarvon is being determined by Enerji in consultation with the Horizon project team and will be advised to the market in a future update. It is now expected in June.

Enerji continues to develop its pipeline of prospects for the Opcon Powerbox in the mining industry while also exploring project and equipment finance options.

The Opcon Powerbox has the capacity to produce more electrical power without burning additional fuel, while also potentially lowering CO2 emissions by up to 15%. Customer savings from the Opcon Powerbox have been estimated at up to $5.1m after five years and $34.7m after 20 years.

Enerji featured on ABC TV News

Enerji and the Opcon Powerbox were featured on the 7pm ABC TV News bulletin on 29 April 2012.

The story by Kathryn Diss focused on the benefits of the Opcon Powerbox for mining companies and interviewed Enerji managing director Greg Pennefather and Poseidon Nickel CEO and managing director David Singleton. The item also includes footage of Enerji's equipment installed at the power station.

<![CDATA[ Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) Second Heat Recovery Unit Installed at Carnarvon ]]> en72202 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/72202/ Wed, 4 Apr 2012 11:36:00 GMT Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has successfully installed the second of the three heat recovery units (HRU) at the Carnarvon project in Western Australia.

The HRUs incorporate an Airec heat exchanger to capture the heat from the engine's hot exhaust.

The design of the system is ingenious, allowing the engine exhaust to take its usual path when the waste heat to power system (WHPS) is not in operation. When the WHPS is operational, the exhaust is diverted through the Airec heat exchanger and then channeled back to the original exhaust stack.

Recent clear conditions at Carnarvon have allowed the installation of the first two HRUs following a delay caused by a period of inclement weather. The image below shows the crane lifting the second unit into place over the top of the existing power plant.

Installation of the third and final HRU is scheduled for next week, barring any delays.

Commissioning at the Carnarvon project is now expected at the end of April.

The Carnarvon Power Station is in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Following installation of the WHPS by Enerji, revenue will be generated through selling the electricity created by the Opcon Powerbox. The Powerbox has the capacity to increase the power station's energy output by up to 700kW without burning additional fuel or creating emissions.

Further construction updates, highlights and milestones will be announced in due course. For more photographs documenting the installation of Enerji's first waste heat to power system go to:

<![CDATA[ Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) Seeking Debt Funding For Future Projects ]]> en72136 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/72136/ Thu, 29 Mar 2012 15:20:00 GMT Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has appointed leading equipment finance broker Ledge Equipment Finance as part of the company's objective to move to debt financing major capital expenses associated with future orders of its Waste Heat to Power Systems.

Ledge Equipment Finance will act on behalf of Enerji to endeavour to secure a debt facility, allowing it an alternative funding source compared to issuing of shares to fund the purchase and installation of new Opcon Powerboxes and associated heat recovery equipment. Using debt finance would minimise future shareholder dilution.

Enerji firmly believes Waste Heat to Power Systems are suitable for debt financing as the business model is based on predictable revenues from electricity generated by the Opcon Powerbox and sold back to the customer under long term PPAs.

The Opcon Powerbox has the capacity to produce more electrical power without burning additional fuel, while also potentially lowering CO2 emissions by up to 15%. Customer savings from the Opcon Powerbox have been estimated at $3.8m after five years and $22.6m after 20 years for customers burning diesel to generate their power.

Enerji is installing its first Opcon Powerbox at the Carnarvon Power Station in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Commissioning at the Carnarvon project is expected at the end of April.

<![CDATA[ Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) First Heat Recovery Unit Installed at Carnarvon ]]> en72054 Y http://www.abnnewswire.net/press/en/72054/ Thu, 22 Mar 2012 14:05:00 GMT Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has installed the first heat recovery unit (HRU) at the Carnarvon project in Western Australia.

The HRU is the first to be designed, manufactured and installed by Enerji as part of the Opcon Powerbox waste heat to power system.

Recent cyclone activity and inclement weather at Carnarvon has delayed installation by approximately one month. This is due to the reliance on cranes lifting units into place over the top of the existing power plant.

Commissioning at the Carnarvon project is now expected at the end of April.

Other work at the site is progressing as expected including assembly of the cooling tower, concreting and installation of water pumps and pipe works.

The Carnarvon Power Station is in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Following installation by Enerji, revenue will be generated through selling the electricity created by the Opcon Powerbox. The Powerbox has the capacity to increase the power station's energy output by up to 700kW without burning additional fuel or creating emissions.

Former Howard Government Minister and Enerji chairman Ian Campbell said the "State of the Climate" snapshot released this morning underpins the need for improved energy solutions capable of reducing carbon emissions.

"Here we have high caliber CSIRO scientists advising maximum temperatures have increased every decade for the past 50 years," he said.

"It is imperative companies and individuals act on this report. For its part, Enerji is committed to developing climate-friendly energy solutions."

Enerji is set to install its first Australian Opcon Powerbox at the Carnarvon Power Station in Western Australia.

The device, developed in Sweden, enables the conversion of waste heat to energy and is capable of generating power with up to 15% fewer carbon emissions. The first Opcon Powerbox will supply an estimated 300 households and businesses.

The technology is already used at several Swedish paper mill plants. Mr Campbell said the company was currently in discussion with several Australian mining companies seeking to be more energy efficient and was confident further Opcon Powerboxes would be rolled out in Australia later this year.

Installation of Australia's first Opcon Powerbox is expected to be completed by the end of this month or early April.
