Beach Petroleum Limited (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) drilling report for the week ending 12 August, 2009. Highlights of the week's activities include:

Beach Petroleum Operated Cooper / Eromanga Exploration (PEL 91)

Marino-1 (Beach 40%) spudded on 22 August and is currently drilling ahead in the Toolebuc Formation at a depth of 1003 metres. It is expected that the well will enter the primary reservoir objective Namur Sandstone early Thursday morning.

Basker - Manta - Gummy (BMG) Oil Field Development - Gippsland Basin

Basker-7 (Beach 30%) has been cased and suspended as a future Latrobe Group oil producer. The current operation is preparing to install a subsea well head. The Ocean Patriot semi-submersible rig will then be released to the T/38P Joint Venture for the drilling of Spikey Beach-1.

Beach Operated Bass Basin - Offshore Tasmania: Spikey Beach-1 (T/38P)

It is expected that the Ocean Patriot semi-submersible drilling rig will be assigned to Beach Petroleum for the drilling of the Spikey Beach-1 exploration well (Beach earning 80%) in T/38P, in the Bass Basin, offshore Tasmania, on or around the 30th August. Spikey Beach-1 will be addressing mean recoverable oil of 16 million barrels and a high side of 41 million barrels (recoverable) of oil in the Upper Eastern View Group.

Egypt - North Shadwan Concession - Gulf of Suez

The Comet Jack-up rig was assigned to the North Shadwan Joint Venture on 25 August and is moving to the NS394-3 oil exploration well location (Beach 20%) in the Gulf of Suez. Spud date will be dependent upon suitable weather for jack-up operations.
