(AMS:AMG) Amsterdam, 12 January 2009 --- AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V.'s ("AMG", EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: "AMG") 50.4% subsidiary Timminco Limited ("Timminco"; TSX: TIM), produced 554 metric tons (mt) of solar grade silicon during the fourth quarter, representing an increase of 62% over that produced during the third quarter and resulting in total production of 1,214 mt for the 2008 year. Shipments of solar grade silicon for the fourth quarter were 423 mt. As a result, Timminco achieved total shipments for the 2008 year of 1,044 mt.

("AMG", EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: "AMG") expects lower than previously forecasted 2008 earnings due to the severe downturn of global economic activity and resulting lower sales volumes and decreased metals prices in the Advanced Materials Division. The significant drop in metal prices and lower sales volumes in the fourth quarter will result in inventory write downs of approximately $20 million. AMG is lowering its 2008 EBITDA target to $175 - $185 million or 47% - 55% growth over 2007.

(AMS:AMG) Amsterdam, 21 October 2008 --- AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V.'s ("AMG", EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: "AMG") 50.4% subsidiary Timminco Limited ("Timminco"; TSX: TIM) has amended its Credit Agreement with Bank of America, N.A. to increase the maximum revolving credit line ("the Revolver") to US$50.0 million from US$32.8 million. The Revolver bears interest at US prime rate plus 0.5% to 1.25%, does not require minimum repayments and is secured by Timminco's assets. The availability of the Revolver is subject to the borrowing base net of an availability reserve. The Credit Agreement expires on March 31, 2010.

("AMG", EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: "AMG") announces that its Engineering Systems Division has acquired the remaining 50% of its nuclear joint venture, Furnaces Nuclear Applications Grenoble S.A. ("FN") for approximately EUR 3 million. FN was formerly a joint venture with a privately held French company. AMG will now consolidate these operations under the Engineering Systems Division.
