Glaston Lowers Net Sales And Operating Profit Forecasts For 2008

Glaston Oyj Abp Losses made by Tamglass Glass Processing, part of Glaston Corporation's Heat Treatment business area, have significantly burdened the first quarter financial results for the Corporation and Tamglass Glass Processing has continued to operate in the red. In addition, global economic uncertainty is being reflected in the Group's major, comprehensive, One-Stop-Partner deliveries in particular, significantly lengthening customer's decision-making times.

For the above-mentioned reasons, Glaston is lowering its net sales and operating profit forecasts for 2008 and estimates that the net sales and operating profit will be on the preceding year's level. In an release of April 23, 2008, Glaston Corporation forecast clear growth in net sales and operating profit compared to 2007.

Glaston will publish its interim report for the second quarter on August 14, 2008.
