Nordea (Finland) (HEL:NDA1V) Leena Mörttinen has been appointed Nordea's Finnish Head of Sales Services with coordination responsibility for Savings Finland effective 1 January 2009. She succeeds Taina Ahvenjärvi, who accepted a position with another employer earlier this autumn.

Leena Mörttinen, 41, is currently Nordea's chief economist in Finland. She has solid experience of the financial services market. She has held various positions in the Bank of Finland, including adviser in the Financial Markets and Statistics Departments. She has also worked as senior expert to the European Central Bank (ECB) in the Division Financial Stability.

The recruitment process for a new Chief Economist is underway. The current head of Research Roger Wessman now serves as temporary substitute for the position.
