Adelaide, April 27, 2006 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Beach Petroleum advises that DST 1 conducted yesterday over the uppermost Namur Sandstone interval 1354 - 1358 metres resulted in a flow of oil to surface in 35 minutes. The final rate was 859 barrels of oil/day accompanied by water at a rate of 340 barrels/day. The stabilised flowing pressure was 125psi through a 1/4 inch surface choke.

At 0600 hours (CST) the rig was preparing to drill ahead to evaluate deeper objectives.

SILVER SANDS-1: DST-1 RESULT
(PEL-92, COOPER-EROMANGA BASIN, SA)

BACKGROUND: Silver Sands-1 is a near-field exploration well located within PEL 92, approximately 80km west of Moomba in the Cooper Basin of northern South Australia. The well is targeting reservoirs in the Namur Sandstone and Hutton Sandstone in a small structural closure about 1.5km SE of the Christies Oilfield (cumulative production of 0.8 million barrels). The well has a planned total depth of 1920 metres that is expected to take approximately 14 days to drill from spud.
