Paul Budde Communications Stock Market Press Releases and Company Profile

Sydney, Aug 13, 2007 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The future directions for the digital media is becoming clearer. The traditional media are moving into more innovative directions. The mobile and fixed telcos still keep posturing but have failed the lead they had in the market for the last 5 years. Some convergence will take place now, other forms will have to wait till open networks based on NGN and fibre are becoming available over the next 10 years. In the meantime supplementary as well as converged services will be introduced. Interesting developments can be expected from combined digital TV and broadband services, linked together into one set top box. User generated video content will be the largest growth market, video based consultancy, monitoring and communication services will see significant growth during the year.

The most significant change broadband is bringing to the market is that it is opening up consumer markets. For decades only corporate users have been able to afford data services. The Internet quickly used this new data development to create an enormous number of consumer applications. Broadband improved the quality, by allowing for video-based applications, and, just as importantly, it has made access to digital media affordable to the mass market. Over the next decade this market will grow to over $20 billion.

At this Roundtable we will provide an insight into this market and analyse the various segments and specifics.
