Republic Gold Limited (ASX:RAU) Drilling Results Indicate More High Grade Intersections And Potential New High Grade Shoot At Terrace Creek Prospect In FNQ
Brisbane, Sep 9, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The Directors of Republic Gold Limited (ASX:RAU) today announced that the Company has received analysis results for the final 18 RC drillholes for the 2009 field season drilling at its Terrace Creek Prospect, within its 100%-owned Tregoora Gold Project in Far North Queensland ("FNQ"). A total of two diamond drillholes have also been completed at Terrace Creek to provide geological interpretations and samples for ongoing metallurgical testwork and will be reported in a second market announcement.
A total of 1,086 metres of RC drilling were drilled in this second phase over 450 metres of strike extent.
Thirteen of the 18 holes intersected mineralisation.
The initial high grade shoot has significant dimensions near surface (approximately 20 metres high x 15 metres across). The projected length of this shoot is now at least 50metres.
The intersection in FN082 illustrates that these relatively small but high grade shoots can be hard to identify, with other drilling in this area providing only subtle clues. Follow-up drilling will take place in the vicinity of FN082 to try and determine the dimensions and orientation of the new high grade mineralisation.
