Beach Energy Limited (ASX:BPT) Resumes Drilling Operations In The Cooper Basin

Adelaide, May 19, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Beach Energy Limited (googlechartASX:BPT) (googlechartPINK:BEPTF) is pleased to report that the Santos operated Genoa-3 well spudded on 18 May 2010.

This well represents the resumption of drilling in the Cooper Basin after an extended period of disruption due to widespread inland flooding. With flood waters now receding from eastern parts of the Cooper Basin, Beach expects that drilling operations will gradually return to normal over the next few weeks and that all three of the Santos contracted rigs in the Basin will be back in operation prior to the end of June.

Genoa-3 (Beach 30%), is being drilled as an oil development well within Queensland permit PL 68.
