Perth, July 1, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Following the Northern Mining Limited's (ASX:NMI) new nickel discovery announcement last week, Northern Mining's current follow-up 23 hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme at E26/268 Blair North Prospect, has intersected more significant gold results (Table 1) extending the zone of gold mineralisation along strike and up dip from previous intercepts (see ASX announcement 20 March 2008 reporting Hole BNRC010 25m @ 4.05g/t Au including 1m @ 15.25g/t Au and 10m @ 8.39g/t Au and Hole BNRC017 24m @ 2.16g/t Au inc 1m @ 22.93g/t Au and 2m @ 17.07g/t Au *)

Preliminary analyses of samples for holes BNRC020 and BNRC021 indicate significant shallow gold mineralisation occurring up dip from the intersection in hole BNRC010.

Sampling was carried out as composites taken from a cyclone splitter on the drill rig. Analysis was carried out at Kalassay Laboratories using a fire assay extraction and analysis by ICP.
Note * These are single hole intercepts into different mineralised occurrences and as such it is not possible to determine the orientation of the holes to the mineralisation. No meaningful, true width estimates of the mineralisation can therefore be made at this stage, as the attitude of the mineralised body is not known.
