Scott Donaldson Chief Executive and Executive Director Mr Donaldson is a qualified mining engineer with a graduate diploma in business. He has more than 20 years experience in the mining industry in Australia and New Zealand with a variety of minerals including gold, nickel, copper, zinc and lead sulphides, copper oxides, coal and chromite. Mr Donaldson has played a key role in the successful transformation of three companies from explorers into producing mining companies. He has successfully managed and developed from pre-feasibility to construction, commissioning and production of five mines over the last 12 years; including (1) Developing, commissioning & managing the Jaguar copper/zinc/silver project in WA with Jabiru Metals; (2) Designing, developing and managing stage one of Western Metals’ Pillara Lead-Zinc Mine in the Kimberley; (3) Developing, commissioning & managing Tectonic Resources’ Rav8 Nickel mine at Ravensthorpe, WA; (4) Commissioning & managing the Coobina chromite mine in the Pilbara with Consolidated Mineral. Mr Donaldson’s expertise will help bring the Bauxite Resource Joint Venture with Yankuang Corporation to fruition.
| Barry Carbon Non Executive Chairman Mr Carbon is a member of the Order of Australia, fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, has a Masters degree in Agricultural Science, a degree in Biochemistry and was previously the longest serving chair and CEO of the Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority. He received a centenary medal for services to government, and in 2008 was presented the medal for the International Association of Impact Assessment. Mr Carbon’s experience includes: Chairman of the Waste Authority of Western Australia; Chief Executive of the Ministry for the Environment, New Zealand; Director General-Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage; Director General-Queensland Environment Protection Agency, including Parks and Wildlife; Executive Director, EPA, Commonwealth of Australia; The Supervising Scientist, Alligator Rivers Region; Chairman and Commonwealth Representative, National Environment Protection Council Committee and served on the Environmental Protection Authority of Western Australia as Chairman from 1985–86 and as Chairman and Chief Executive from 1986-93. He is a director of the Australian Sustainable Development Institute, and Principal of Barry Carbon and Associates. Mr Carbon’s career started as a scientist with CSIRO where he became a research programme leader. In his subsequent five years he led environmental activities for Alcoa of Australia.
| Luke Frederick Atkins Non Executive Director Mr Atkins is a lawyer by profession and was previously the principal of Atkins and Co Lawyers, a Perth based legal firm which he owned and managed for seven years. Mr Atkins brings to the Company extensive experience in capital raising and public listed companies. Mr Atkins is currently a director of a number of proprietary companies with involvement in the areas of mineral exploration, investment, property development and manufacturing. Mr Atkins has a lifelong, extensive first hand knowledge and experience in agricultural pursuits in the Darling Range. He has ongoing farming interests and a detailed knowledge of the current private landholder access issues and challenges facing landowners throughout the Darling Range.
| Neil Alexander Lithgow Non Executive Director Mr Lithgow is a geologist by profession with over 20 years’ experience in mineral exploration, economics and mining feasibility studies, covering base metals, coal, iron ore and gold. Mr Lithgow has previously worked for Aquila Resources Ltd, Eagle Mining Corporation and De Grey Mining Ltd and is presently self employed in the mineral exploration industry. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
| Robert John Nash Non Executive Director Mr Nash is a lawyer by profession and currently practises as a barrister. He was a council member of the Law Society of Western Australia for 7 years, a Convenor of the Law Society Education Committee and a member of the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committees. Mr Nash has been a local government councillor and is a member of the West Australian Navy Legal Panel. Mr Nash has been a director of a number of companies involved in the areas of property development and intellectual property.
| John Sibly Non Executive Director Mr John Sibly is a highly experienced executive, with more than 35 years of operational and executive experience within the bauxite and alumina refinery sectors, including more than 15 years as a senior executive with Alcoa. In 2006 Mr Sibly retired from his role of President Global Manufacturing Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals, based in New York. In this position he was responsible for nine refineries and five operating mines around the world. He was also accountable for engineering, construction, and research and development of Alcoa’s mining and refineries. In his career with Alcoa Mr Sibly held various senior positions, including leading the process design team and being inaugural works manager at the Sao Luis Alumina refinery in Brazil, and works manager at the Kwinana and Pinjarra refineries in Western Australia. In 2000 Mr Sibly received the Irving W Wilson award for ‘outstanding leadership and management of technology throughout Alcoa’. Mr Sibly has previously been a president of the Australian Minerals Industry Research Association, director of the centre for minesite rehabilitation research, and member of many other councils and advisory bodies. He is currently managing director of Brolga Consulting Pty Ltd, and non-executive director of Exergen Pty Ltd and LVNG Pty Ltd. Mr Sibly has a Bachelor of Applied Science (University of Adelaide) and an Associate Diploma – Primary Metallurgy (SAIT). He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a past Member of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers.
| Paul Fromson Company Secretary Paul Fromson is a Certified Practising Accountant and Chartered Company Secretary with a broad range of finance, accounting, taxation and commercial experience. Since 1986 he has held a number of senior finance roles including board positions and has over 12 years experience in ASX listed resource companies. Paul has had direct experience in bauxite, alumina and aluminium having previously worked for an International company that has part ownership of the Worsley Alumina Joint Venture in South Western Australia and the Boyne Aluminium Smelter in Queensland. In addition to this Paul started his own successful taxation practice which he operated for 6 years and sold earlier this year. Paul brings to the company direct hands on experience in a number of areas and is a welcome addition to the Bauxite Resources Team.
