Lund, Sweden, Mar 26, 2008 - (ABN Newswire) - Precise Biometrics has been awarded an order to supply 50,000 licenses of Precise Match-on-Card(TM) for an employee ID card program to one of the largest Police Departments in the USA. The total project value for Precise Biometrics is expected to reach SEK 2-5 million.
Precise Biometrics supplies the well-proven and widely deployed Precise Match-on-Card(TM) technology to enable the Police Department to prove their employees' identities in a fast, secure and reliable way. The total project value is expected to reach at least SEK 2 million, comprising both Precise Match-on-Card(TM) software and fingerprint readers. The project will run during 2008 and 2009, and may result in additional hardware orders.
Often looked upon as a US leader in law enforcement technology, the department is now modernizing internal IT-programs. Through the introduction of an employee card with Precise Match-on-Card(TM) for Java cards, the Police Department will improve its security.
Precise Biometrics has for several years successfully supplied Match-on-Card to other prestigious US customers, such as the Department of State, NASA and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

The project includes a mix of software and hardware deliverables from Precise Biometrics. The first hardware orders for Precise 200 MC and Precise 250 MC fingerprint readers as well as the 50,000 Precise Match-on-Card(TM) licenses have been delivered.
