New high grade gold mineralisation has been intersected to the east of the proposed Q Pits in the northern section of Kingsgate's (ASX:KCN) (PNK:KSKGF), Chatree North Mine in central Thailand as part of a drilling campaign to extend geological resources in the planned pit areas.

The Thai government has approved an investment package with an 8 year tax free period to construct a new US$100 million processing plant at Kingsgate's (ASX:KCN) Chatree gold mine in central Thailand.

The Thai Board of Investment has announced that Kingsgate's (ASX:KCN) Thai subsidiary, Akara Mining Limited, has been approved for a Zone 3 investment promotion package for the new Chatree North Processing Plant in central Thailand. A Zone 3 (rural) fiscal incentive includes an eight year tax free period from first production, followed by a further five years at half the 30% corporate tax rate.

A major new gold discovery by Kingsgate Consolidated Limited (ASX:KCN)(PINK:KSKGF), to be known as Chokdee, has been made in the central Thai gold belt, approximately 20km north of the Chatree gold mine.

Yesterday, the Australian share market closed lower after falls from the financial sector, with Babcock & Brown (ASX:BNB) suffering a heavy loss amid a drop in interim profit. Analysts said that some of the reports out yesterday were slightly negative, despite some coming out with higher profit the forward earnings would be under pressure.
