Sydney, June 6, 2007 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The Directors of Solagran Limited (ASX: SLA) are pleased to release the attached letter which has been received from the organising committee of the Gastro-2007 Conference in St Petersburg.
Over the past month, Solagran Directors Dr Vagif Soultanov and Mr Charles Pellegrino have been in Central and Eastern Europe for a series of meetings and presentations. Their trip began in Hungary where the focus of discussions was on the distribution of Bioeffectives(r) in Central Europe. They then travelled to St Petersburg for an extensive series of meetings - including participation in the Gastro-2007 Conference. They then moved on to Tomsk where the focus was on production facilities. They are now in Moscow and will return to Australia at the end of this week.
The Gastro-2007 conference, which was part of the 9th International Slavonic-Baltic Scientific Forum, was held over a three day period commencing on 16 May. It was a major event, attracting an international audience of more than 2,000 medical specialists and some 60 pharmaceutical companies.
A number of presentations were delivered on RoprenTM, Bioeffective(r) R and Bioeffective(r) A - including the results of RoprenTM clinical trials completed in 2004. The presenters were Professor Elena Lapteva, Professor Victor Roschin and Dr Vagif Soultanov.
It is clear from the attached letter that not only was the material presented very well received, it stimulated a great deal of interest from clinicians in the use of these substances -particularly RoprenTM.
The feedback from the Gastro-2007 conference has confirmed the Directors' belief that once RoprenTM is approved by the Russian Ministry of Health, Solagran's main challenge will not be to generate demand, but to ensure sufficient supply to meet expected demand.
Solagran already had a good understanding of the potential demand for RoprenTM in Russia. But it was important to confirm that understanding before travelling to Tomsk for discussions about production facilities. The Directors will update the market shortly on the substance of those discussions.

The 9th International Slavonic-Baltic Scientific Forum "St Petersburg - Gastro-2007" took place from 16 to 19 of May 2007 and attracted more than 2000 medical specialists in hepatology, gastroenterology and dietary therapy from around the world.
The organising committee would like to express its enormous gratitude to Solagran and particularly to Dr V. S. Soultanov for his great contribution to the Forum.
We would like to highlight the excellent showcase organised by Solagran and also the undoubted scientific value of the presentations made by Dr Soultanov on the International Symposium "Diagnostics and Treatment of Chronic Diseases of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancreas", as well as on the International Symposium "Therapeutic Fasting in Clinical Practice".
The therapeutic substances Ropren, Bioeffective R and Bioeffective A, developed by Solagran attracted a great deal of interest from the Forum's participants. Particular attention was paid to the extensive experimental, morphological and clinical material presented, as well as to the specific efficacy of these plant origin substances.
Participants in the Forum asked a lot of questions, in particular about the possibility of purchasing these therapeutic substances via the Russian pharmaceutical network, and made practical recommendations in relation to their distribution.
This material attracted so much attention that Dr Soultanov was invited to take part in the TV news program "A Week in the Big Country" (Russian TV Channel 5).
We express a hope that the therapeutic substances presented by Solagran on the 9th International Slavonic-Baltic Scientific Forum "St-Petersburg Gastro-2007" will have a great success in the near future, not only in Russia but throughout the world.
