Beach Petroleum Operated Cooper / Eromanga Exploration and Development
Perlubie-1 (PEL 92) has been completed as an oil producer and free-flowed on test at 2600 bopd without water. This finishes a three well completion program of the PEL 92 / PPL 220 Joint Venture's recent exploration and appraisal program. Callawonga-5 and Callawonga-6 were also completed as oil producers and flowed at a combined rate of 6600 bopd with traces of water. The Callawonga wells are now producing into the production system with Perlubie-1 to be connected in the 2nd quarter, 2009. Interests in PEL 92 and PPL 220 are Beach Petroleum Ltd (75%) and Cooper Energy Ltd (25%).
Egypt - South East July Concession - Gulf of Suez
South July-1, targeting oil in the Lower Rudeis and Nubia Formations is at a depth of 3773 metres. Acquisition of the intermediate wireline log suite has been completed. The current operation is attempting to free stuck drill pipe prior to drilling ahead. Interests in South July-1 are Beach Petroleum (Egypt) Pty Limited, 20%, Santos Egypt Pty Ltd, 40% and Dana Petroleum (E&P) Limited, 40%.
