WestSide Corporation Limited (ASX:WCL) Updated On Meridian Seamgas Reserves Expansion Exploration Drilling

Brisbane, Dec 15, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - WestSide Corporation Limited (ASX:WCL), as Operator of the Meridian SeamGas CSG gas fields, has completed drilling the MER01V pilot production well in PL 94 in the Bowen Basin near Moura after successfully drilling the adjacent MER01X appraisal well.

Despite the intervention of wet weather, the MER01V production pilot well was drilled to its target depth of 550 metres on 12 December 2010 and is being cased and cemented for fracture stimulation following receipt of test results on core samples from the MER01X core hole.

Dominion Drilling's DR02 rig is now preparing to relocate to the site of the next exploration well in the program, MER02X which is expected to spud in the new year.

MER02X will be the third well in a 16-well exploration program designed to increase the Meridian SeamGas joint venture's gross proved and probable (2P) reserves by up to 200 petajoules.

WestSide will issue regular updates as and when appropriate as the reserves expansion exploration program progresses.
