Singapore, May 19, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - SAP AG (FRA:SAP)(NYSE:SAP) announce Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) performed strongly in a challenging first quarter 2009, showing sustained Customer support and improved Operating Margins. In particular, SAP China put in an exceptional performance, showing double-digit revenue growth and material margin expansion over the previous comparable period.
Attributing SAP APJ's market leading performance to its strong customer base and ability to innovate in response to Customer needs, Geraldine McBride, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan said, "Our Customers are with us, in spite of the current economic environment. Globally, in Q1 2009, 22% of our order entry came from new Customers, while recurring revenues comprised almost 55% of total sales revenue.
