WestSide Corporation Limited (ASX:WCL) Appoints Boart Longyear To Operate Schramm Drilling Rig For Its Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Tenements

Brisbane, July 30, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - WestSide Corporation Limited (ASX:WCL) has appointed experienced international drilling company, Boart Longyear (ASX:BLY)(PINK:BOARF) to operate, maintain and manage the new Schramm TXD 'Telemast' drilling rig currently being commissioned by WestSide in Brisbane.

WestSide is close to completing commissioning of the rig for use on forthcoming drilling operations in its Bowen Basin coal seam gas (CSG) tenements. The Schramm TXD 180 rig is one of the largest dedicated CSG rigs in Australia.

WestSide Corporation Chairman and Acting-CEO Angus Karoll said the Schramm rig would allow WestSide greater control over its programs and be a valuable resource as the Company moved into its next phase of exploration and appraisal.

"The rig will provide a significant competitive advantage by delivering a solution to the industry-wide issues of increasing costs and supply constraints," Mr Karoll said.

WestSide is currently seeking approval from joint venturer, QGC for an expanded drilling program in its Bowen Basin tenements and expects the rig to be ready to commence drilling this quarter.

The rig will be available for use by other industry participants at commercial rates when the rig is not in use on WestSide's projects.
